Reading Week at CB!
24 Apr 2026
We have had a very exciting week at CB celebrating the love of books and reading!
The children were very excited to bring their favourite books from home to share with their friends. Some children also brought a puppet or stuffed toy that represented their favourite book character and brought their character to life with funny voices when sharing them with their friends!
Our first event for our Reading Celebrations was DEAR time. (Drop Everything And Read) The children from PN-K3 stopped everything and looked at their favourite books to start off their school day. It was a really wonderful way to begin our school day.
On Wednesday we had a Partner Reading session, where classes were partnered with another class and shared their favourite books together. The children really enjoyed going to different classes, and the older children really loved reading with the younger ones. We had lots of wonderful little readers enjoying books together!
April 23rd was World Book Day, and to celebrate, the children enjoyed stories from “Mystery Readers.” The classes signed up and were surprised by a member of the Management team who came to read to them. The children really enjoyed having a surprise reader visit their class and read with them.
To end off our reading week, for Special Activity Day, the children came to school dressed as their favourite book character. We had lots of wonderful characters roaming our hallways! The K1-K3 children also got to go to different classes to listen to stories read by parent volunteers. They enjoyed being able to select their favourite book to listen to!
We all had a really wonderful week celebrating our love for books and reading!
